Ethical commercial photographer in Herefordshire; explorer of the universe
Paul Ligas - Ethical Photographer in Herefordshire
I come from Ontario, Canada, and my parents gave me my first SLR after I graduated from university with a degree in biology. My sister, an artist and art teacher, showed me how to see the world through an artist’s eyes, and has given me honest feedback that has helped make my photography better.
I've always had a deep passion for conservation and protection of the natural environment. I believe in the importance of sustainability, of preserving and enhancing the natural environment.
I was born and raised in a multicultural society and grew up considering equality for all simply a given. Now I know that it's something that needs to be fought for. I believe in supporting those experiencing disadvantage and in creating and maintaining a healthy, vibrant, multicultural community for the benefit of everyone – making the world a better place, starting with where I live.
My wife gives me great support in my photography work. We own two energetic dogs who help me to live in the moment and get me outside every day. I enjoy playing my guitar, watching the Montreal Canadiens play hockey, walks in the countryside, exploring the universe with my telescope, and lifelong learning.
I live in Ledbury and am pleased to be the official photographer for the world-famous, multicultural Ledbury Poetry Festival. I've taken photographs for Westons Cider, Haygrove Limited, The Royal Institute of British Architects Journal, The British Heart Foundation, and many other clients in Hereford, Ledbury, Malvern, Gloucester, Worcester and across the UK.
