Mushrooms
Last week I visited the Urban Farm, a former project of Exeter Community Initiatives, in Exeter’s city centre at the invitation of the farmer, Lyndon Forster, to take some photographs of the oyster mushrooms nearing harvest. I had to wear shoe-covers to prevent my carrying in foreign spores, and a mask to filter out mushroom spores for my own safety.
I used natural light for these images. As three of the walls had end-to-end windows on a cloudy day, the lighting was beautifully even, and though it was darker than I’d have liked my tripod made up for the slow shutter speeds.
Here’s a few of the photographs from that session.
