Photos from my life during the lockdown Part 7
Since the UK is now under a travel restriction lockdown, I’m not able to take photos for my clients. So I’m documenting my time, working and living, with photos I’ve taken from inside my home and in the garden and on my once-daily exercise, walking my dogs: Photos from inside a lockdown. This is Part 7. You can see Part 1 here, Part 2 here, Part 3 here, Part 4 here, Part 5 here, Part 6 here, Part 8 here, Part 9 here, Part 10 here, Part 11 here, Part 12 here, Part 13 here, Part 14 here.
The sun has shone and we had some beautiful weather in April. Now that we’re back to the normal for this time of year it feels like summer may not come back. With the British weather being what it is, let’s cross our fingers.
But you know spring is definitely here when hornets hunting for a nesting spot scout inside your house. After quite a scare, I caught one in the lounge and set it free out front – well away from the house.
Looking at my own photographs I’m interested to see, but not surprised, at the number of photos of my dogs that are in this series. They’re my friends, and they keep me grounded, and they’re a big reason that I go out every single day, rain or shine. For the past almost 12 years they’ve been out for at least two walks a day, every day. Rain, snow, sunshine, gales, it doesn’t matter – they get their exercise and stimulation (and so do I).
This body of work is partly meant to bring attention to a change in how we see the familiar things around us – having to remain for such an extended time in a smaller space – and how we now have to interact with others from a distance. I hope it speaks to you viewing it and maybe inspires you to look closer at the beauty in your own home.
In the meantime, stay home, stay healthy and protect yourselves and everyone else.
